So your website is ready and you have already added Google Adsense ads to it as a way to earn some money from it. But you are not able to make much with Google Adsense. Are you looking for various ways which can help you to increase your earnings with Google Adsense? If yes, then you should read on. Here are ten ways which would help you to make more money with Google Adsense.

1. Restricting Adsense Blocks

You should use Adsense blocks one for each page. If you think that more ads would help in earning more money then you are not right as ads with lower value are placed on your site. Your focus should be getting high value ads so that visitors can click them.

2. Using Multiple Formats

You should use different formats for Google advertisements. Having primary advertisements along Google block is a good thing but you need to take it as one out of three options. Google search box and text link ad are other two formats.

3. Placing a rectangle

Above the fold, one should put a good sized rectangle. The best method for formatting a page is to make the Google Adsense block follows the Headline. Articles filled with keywords should be started below that.

4. Offer Quality Content

You should provide good quality content on your blog which make sense for users and search engines. If Google is unable to find any ads relevant to your page content, will show public ads on that page, which will lower down your Adsense earnings. So you should try including some keywords within your page content.

5. Putting in higher paying keywords

People who wish to earn more through Google Adsense need to put those keywords which are paid high. It is a fact that some Adsense clicks are paid very less while others like insurance make a lot of money. One can use Google Adwords tool for getting an idea about amount spent by advertisers on ad clicks.

6. Try to increase traffic to your site

By increasing traffic to your website or blog, you would surely be able to increase your earnings through Google Adsense. You should try as many ways as possible to generate more traffic to your website.

7. Join Discussion forums

Over the internet there are many discussion forums which share a part of their revenue from Google Adsense with the users. One needs to have a Google Adsense account to get the share. Digital Point Forum, Domain Name Portal and there are many more discussion forums available which shares their Google Adsense Earnings.

8. Make use of Topical pages

There are many websites where you can create topical pages like Squidoo and Hubpages. And you can show your own Google Adsense ads on your pages there. So create good quality topical pages on these networks, bring traffic to them and increase your total Adsense earnings.

9. Placing Adsense rightly on the page

You should never place your Google Adsense ads at the bottom of the page. Always keep them at the top. This will surely help you in increasing your earnings.

10 Experiment a lot

Always keep on finding and trying new ways to boost up the income from Google Adsense. This way, you would be able to find newer ways for increasing Google Adsense earnings by yourself.

Are you an experienced campaigner with Google Adsense and know of many more ways to make money with Google Adsense, that I missed in this post, please share in the comments section below.

I received an email from Google AdSense team yesterday announcing that Google is going to allow Google-certified ad networks to compete with AdWords advertisers to show their ads on the AdSense Content network. I’m sure every AdSense publisher have got this email.

This seems to be a good news to the webmasters and bloggers who use AdSense to make money on their site. The AdSense publishers used to display ads of advertisers from Google AdWords network only, allowing other advertising networks to compete with Google AdWords advertisers for ad exposure could lead to more high paid ads to be shown on the AdSense publishers’ site. So the AdSense publishers can earn higher pay per ad click which means higher AdSense earning.

But, anyway this is just a little theory I came up on my mind, not sure this will happen. I’ll be monitoring my AdSense account to see if there is any positive impact. But one thing that can be confirmed is that the AdSense publishers will have more ads to shown to their website visitors.

Adsense: a programme from Google to allow publishers put up their web space for displaying CPC ads and earn from user clicks

Bing: latest search engine from Microsoft which, comparing with the previous attempt of live.com, now looks more that they are going to make it

Then now, what is the relationship between Google advertising network and Microsoft search engine here?

According to Chitika, Bing users are more likely to click on ads compared to Google users. As I mentioned previously, this is due to majority of Bing users are less likely to be web savvy, and thus have higher average pageview per user and higher CTR. Of course, if Bing can prove that they are worthy to be good search engine for more people, this might change in the future.

So, the impact to web publishers is this: it is now becoming more important to SEO optimize for Bing search engine. Previously, it is convenient to ignore Microsoft search engine due to the small market share. As Bing gaining search market share, it means this is not something you can think about anymore. It is now compulsory to optimize for Bing.

The bonus point is that each visitor that you get from Bing is almost twice as likely to click on your ads. And I’m sure that is good news for your Adsense account.

Still thinking to cheat AdSense? Stop that. It will never bring you anywhere. You might pull it off with smaller ads network, but definitely not with Google. Here are some detection methods they might use. At the very least, they have the resources to do so.

IP Address

If the AdSense click is originated from the same IP Address as the one used for accessing your AdSense account, your account is flagged.

Cookies

Most home users do not use static IP Address for Internet connection. In most cases just disconnect and reconnect will give you a new IP Address. But don’t forget, Google has set cookies on your computer.

Other Google Services

Thinking that you are safe just because you do not access your AdSense account? Think again. This time, consider these: GMail, Google Earth, Google Calendar, Google Search, Google Toolbar, Google Talk, Google Sitemap, Google Desktop, Blogger, and so on, and so on. With the wide range of services they provide, Google can trace the originator of most (or probably almost all) clicks.

Click Pattern 1

Oh, why this computer / IP address / person is so trigger-click-happy on this particular website but never click on the ads on other sites?

Click Pattern 2

And why is it that people accessing these sites direct (type-in URL or from bookmark) tend to be very active ad-clickers compared with those referred from search engine or other sites?

Click Pattern 3

And why the ad-clickers like to hit and run, compared with non ad-clickers that surf a few pages before leaving?

Click-Through-Rate (CTR)

Your CTR may range from 0.5% to 10%, but if it exceeds a certain point (probably around 10%), you are flagged.

Geo-Location

Used Urchin (Google Analytics) before? Then you should know that Google can trace traffics origin down to the small town. Different IP doesn’t mean much. Unless you site is really targetted to one small geo-point, a high number of clicks from nearby location will get you banned quickly.

Hardware address?

MAC address of the LAN card, modem, and router works almost like a fingerprint. I’m not sure if Google can track this, but probably they do. They have rocket scientist, remember?

Advertisers conversion rate

Ad click is one thing. But does it bring value to the advertisers? If none of the clicks on your site translate to conversion to the advertiser, you are in trouble. First the Smart-Pricing hits, then your AdSense account disabled.

Search Engine Ranking

Your website is not indexed on any search engine, not linked by any prominent website, but get consistently high traffic? That sounds like something is in play. Regardless of whether it is an adware-embedded software, spam, trojan clickbot, or intentionally installed click-exchange network, it doesn’t sound right.

Webpage design

How about the “click here” or “support us”? Google has the best search engine in the world. Is it really that hard to find those words?

Combo

Each of these detection methods might seem rather weak. But combine them together, and not many click-fraud can pass-through these filters. Even the smartest clickbot will have a hard time.

In short, it is almost impossible to cheat AdSense in the long term. Instead of spending time, money, and effort trying to outsmart Google, try these tips to improve your AdSense earning.

With so many people ranting and screaming and crying that Google has disabled their adsense account, it’s really an interesting topic worthy to write about. You might be another one who just got the dreaded “invalid click” account closure email from Adsense team, and furious over it. Relax, mate. Not the end of the world, but it is definitely good to know the reason why you are banned. If you still have your account intact, read this, but as our Uncle Ferdy says: “Don’t try this at home.” Keep in mind that these are HOW TO GET BANNED. In other words, this is a “DO NOT” List if you don’t want your adsense account to be disabled.

1. Ignore Adsense Program Policies & TOS

2. Click on your own ads, specially those you are “genuinely interested” in. Ask people to click on your ads: your friends, your family members, your relatives, your visitors, or even your dogs or your cats. Use proxies to avoid detection.

3. Participate in some form of click-ring. Click-rings are groups of people who gather with consensus to click each others’ ads. Most commonly used methods are Yahoo Groups, instant messenger, mail list, web forum, or specially written software.

4. Buy, write, or use click-bot software. Click-bot software will go around your site and click on your ads. Most of the times, these click-bots are using proxies to avoid detection.

5. Pay the Indian-clickers. These are the people whose main jobs are clicking on PPC advertisements and paid by the malicious publishers. Most of them are from developing countries like India or China.

6. “Invest” with websites that promises to deliver “adsense clicks” for your site. Whatever methods they are using, most likely it falls under one of the aboves.

7. Extra words to make your visitors to notice your ads. Write “Click here” or “Please support us” or “Visit our sponsors”. Anything other than Google-approved “sponsored links” or “advertisements”.

8. Put in as many ads as possible in every page. Put more than three units of the normal ads block, more than one unit of ads links, or more than one referral buttons for each adsense, adwords, and firefox; all in one page.

9. Use spyware to get traffics to your site. Spyware, adware, malware, or whatever it is called can force computer users to open your website everytime they start the computer. Or even better, use some kind of specially written software, toolbar, etc to display or click on your ads.

10. Use pop-ups on your website. Everytime your user open a page, pop-up another one, ideally with the smiley or the IQ Test advertisements.

11. Get as much un-targetted traffic as possible, for instance using the auto-surfing programmes to rotate the members around your site and other sites.

12. Put the adsense code in non-content pages: registration forms, term and condition, login page.

13. Have a competitor contextual ad on same page with adsense ads, for example Yahoo Publisher Network. Please note though that non-contextual ads, e.g. affiliate links or keyword-based ads are acceptable by google and won’t get you banned.

14. Get more than one adsense account. Maybe one for your dog-site, one for your cat-site, one for the v1agra pills, one for mp3 download, etc.

15. Put your adsense code in email the email, usenet, RSS, etc.

16. Tell everyone what is your CTR, your page impressions, etc. Telling people about your total earning, unfortunately, is allowed.

17. Put Google logo where you shouldn’t, and don’t put the logo where you should. In other word, ignore Google trademark.

18. Modify Adsense code as you see fit. Modify the layout, color, URL, will be well. Just anything other than copy-and-paste the code from Google.

19. And, this is important: if and when Google Adsense Team sends you email, ignore it.

20. Put adsense codes in the banned contents

Do Not Place adsense ads on websites that contain the following:

* Excessive profanity

* Violence, racial intolerance, or advocate against any individual, group, or organization

* Hacking/cracking content

* Illicit drugs and drug paraphernalia

* Pornography , adult, or mature content

* Gambling or casino-related content

* Excessive advertising

* Any other content that promotes illegal activity or infringes on the legal rights of others

* Pop-ups, pop-unders or exit windows that interfere with site navigation, obscure Google ads, change user preferences, or are for downloads. Other types of pop-ups, pop-unders, or exit windows may be allowed, provided that they do not exceed a combined total of 5 per user session

* Excessive, repetitive, or irrelevant keywords in the content or code of web pages

* Deceptive or manipulative content or construction to improve your site’s search engine ranking, e.g., your site’s PageRank

* Incentives (monetary or point-based) to users or third-party beneficiaries for online activity including, but not limited to, clicking on ads or links, performing searches, surfing websites, reading emails, or completing surveys

* Sales or promotion of certain weapons, such as firearms, ammunition, balisongs, butterfly knives, and brass knuckles

* Sales or promotion of beer or hard alcohol

* Sales or promotion of tobacco or tobacco-related products

* Sales or promotion of prescription drugs

* Sales or promotion of products that are replicas or imitations of designer goods

I have been viewing so many people claiming to be banned for no reason that i felt compelled to share this info with you so that i and others dont have to here you moan and groan when you finally get caught..

Before you start reading this article, let me inform you that my Adsense account was banned recently. Yes, it was banned a while ago due to my sheer negligence . A while back, I had put adsense code in some of the free WordPress themes that are available here on Blog Oh! Blog. This was not a problem until some of the free themes got picked up and started getting used by porn blogs and other such XXX sites. Though Google did warn me that my code is being used by XXX sites, I hardly paid attention because I was sure that I don’t own any such sites ( I totally forgot that my code was present in the free themes and neither did I feel the need to open those sites – which could have given me a clue). Anyway, my ass got banned after some time… I will share with all of you how Google let me create a new Adsense account (which is almost rare) at the end of this article, so read on!

Google, being the indisputable leader in search engines from then until now, is placing a high importance on the quality and relevancy of its search engines. Most especially now that the company is public property. In order to keep the shareholders and users of its engines happy, the quality of the returned results are given extreme importance. For this same reason, doing the wrong things in the Adsense and other forms of advertisements, whether intentionally or unintentionally, will result in a severe penalty, may get you banned and even have your account terminated. Nothing like a good action taken to keep wrongdoers from doing the same things over again.

So for those who are thinking of getting a career in Adsense, do not just think of the strategies you will be using to generate more earnings. Consider some things first before you actually get involved.

Hidden texts

Filling your advertisement page with texts to small to read, has the same color as the background and using css for the sole purpose of loading them with rich keywords content and copy will earn you a penalty award that is given to those who are hiding links.

Page cloaking

There is a common practice of using browser or bot sniffers to serve the bots of a different page other than the page your visitors will see. Loading a page with a bot that a human user will never see is a definite no-no. This is tricking them to click on something that you want but they may not want to go to.

Multiple submissions

Submitting multiple copies of your domain and pages is another thing to stay away from. For example, trying to submit a URL of an Adsense as two separate URL’s is the same as inviting trouble and even termination. Likewise, this is a reason to avoid auto submitters for those who are receiving submissions. Better check first if your domain is submitted already an a certain search engine before you try to submit to it again. If you see it there, then move on. No point contemplating whether to try and submit there again.

Link farms

Be wary of who and what are you linking your Adsense to. The search engines know that you cannot control your links in. But you can certainly control what you link to. Link farming has always been a rotten apple in the eyes of search engines, especially Google. That is reason enough to try and avoid them. Having a link higher than 100 on a single page will classify you as a link farm so try and not to make them higher than that.

Page rank for sale

If you have been online for quite some time, you will notice that there are some sites selling their PR links or trading them with other sites. If you are doing this, expect a ban anytime in the future. It is okay to sell ads or gain the link. But doing it on direct advertisement of your page rank is a way to get on search engines bad side.

Doorways

This is similar to cloaking pages. The common practice of a page loaded with choice keyword ads aimed at redirecting visitors to another “user-friendly” page is a big issue among search engines. There are many seo firms offering this kind of services. Now that you know what they actually are, try to avoid them at all costs.

Multiple domains having the same content

In case you are not aware of it, search engines look at domains IP’s, registry dates and many others. Having multiple domains having the same exact content is not something you can hide from them. The same goes with content multiplied many times on separate pages, sub domains and forwarding multiple domains to the same content.

Many of the above techniques apply to most search engines and is not entirely for Google only. By having a mind set that you are building your Adsense together with your pages for the human users and not for bots, you can be assured of the great things for your ads and sites. Not to mention avoiding the wrath of the search engines and getting your Adsense and site account terminated altogether.
